The Tempest Alex Model French horn honors the great horn masters of Germany. This Double F/Bb model known for its beautiful sound and easy playing characteristics will astonish the player and the audience. The Alex Model features multi port precision rotary valves, eliminating much of the turbulence found in standard rotary design. The combination of a solid high register, robust projection, and rapid attack of the Bb horn with the rich, tender timbre of the F horn make the double horn ideal for most playing situations.
It has a .475 (12.10 mm) bore with a customized Geyer style wrap, which is the basis of modern large bell horns. The 4 Rotary valves and slides are hand-lapped and have smooth action; with complele adjustable hand position. The cyclical bore provides a cylindrical tubing assembly in combination with a conical mouthpipe and bell system. This allows for consistent airflow throughout the French Horn.
The Tempest Alex Model is made of beautiful Yellow Brass, with a Gold Brass Leadpipe. It has a Screw Bell design, and is fitted with either a standard yellow brass or optional gold brass bell; this design is also easier for transportation. For even greater comfort, a leather palm cover is installed. It comes in a beautiful flat Screw bell case and comes with a professional mouthpiece. The Tempest horn comes with a 5-year warranty.
